Education

***I charge $35/hr. This includes access to my online chat server via an app called Discord. (Your child may already be familiar!) It's free, and it allows you/your child to interact with other students, ask me quick questions, and send me their assignments. In order to maintain server access, you must consistently book time with me, either in person or via Discord. Please note that use of the app is not required in order to work with me. If you're a college student, contact me for discount info.*** B.S. in Molecular, Cell, Developmental Biology from UCSC, class of 2015. I was also a teaching assistant for my biotech/biology teacher.

Experience

I have an intense passion for molecular biology. It's a convoluted subject that many shy away from, and I love inspiring students to discover more about the building blocks of life. More broadly, I feel I'm adept at sparking students' interest in these subjects, as well as accommodating diverse learning styles. Hobbies

What does a molecular biologist do, other than read wikipedia and browse NCBI databases for fun? She plays a lot of video games. I'm talkin' Nintendo, PC, Xbox, PS, I do it all, baby. I'm also known to go outside occasionally. In fact, I played lacrosse for 12 years and even coached my college lacrosse team. I'll play pretty much any sport other than golf. Snowboarding, swimming, kayaking, and getting dragged behind a boat on a tube are all fun for me. When I'm too tired for all of that, I love to dabble in creative writing (who doesn't?) and play with my cat, Onion.
