Sharon Hsuan-Yu Wu is 2016 scholarship winner, study with Gilbert Kalish. Sharon received her Master degree in piano in University of Kansas as a scholarship student. She had a Bachelor degree in piano, Tunghai University, Taiwan, where she studied with Thomas Linde.
Experience
Sharon Hsuan-Yu Wu, a native of Taiwan, is one of the few pianists in the world to successfully perform “The People United Will Never Be Defeated!” (Frederic Rzewski’s hour-long set of 36 variations) from memory. Sharon was the Kansas State alternate in the 2013 MTNA Young Artist piano competition, and has performed in the United States, Taiwan, and Prague. She is also involved in chamber music, contemporary music, and piano collaboration. She is an active member of MTNA (Music Teacher National Association).
