My passion for education lies in helping students experience their moments of intellectual epiphany and sharing their joy in reaching that achievement. My practicum experience in English instruction at Glenbrook South High School and coursework at Northwestern University have provided me with relevant experience to tutor students. More specifically, my lesson plan projects and presentations in English Teaching Methods & Techniques allowed me to refine my teaching strategies in the content area that would be directly applicable to helping students improve their reading and writing skills. Additionally, I have completed 124 credit hours of English training at Northwestern with heavy emphasis on both British and American literature. Personally, I am attuned to students' needs and possess strong communication skills, including listening and the ability to build rapport with my students. With these qualities, I am able to create a friendly, comfortable environment for students in which there is continuity and clear communication of high standards so they can build upon the current skills and improve over time.
